Use with a terra cotta urn and without fail water is just as satisfying as Gene Autry cold have wished for.
I know a lot of folks wrote about the mold issue on the outside with this particular filter but the inside always remined perfectly clean. The water tastes delicious and we've been using it for about 10 years now. At first we used water from our shallow well so there was a lot of sediment and the filters needed an extra scrubbing. But lately we refill it with tap water and are totally satisfied with it. Yes, I would like to know how to maintain the exterior without so much effort but in the meantime, we will just keep enjoying our delicious, safe water!
I have the epic la natural cooler with two filters that I change once a year with two people in household , for more than ten years never had a problem the water taste great even at the end of its filters cycle.
I have bought one for my sons household he loves it. saves a lot of money buying bottle water and good for the environment.
My terracota dispenser arrived fast and intact. Was carefully packed and handled. I haven’t bought the 5 gallon container yet but I started using the dispenser as water container and unlike some people who left reviews here, I do love the earthy flavor of the water. It brings back so many childhood memories when I lived in Mexico. Water stays cool. So far No condensation issues. I hope everything works as expected and planning to buy the mini dispenser for my office in a near future.
I do recommend this product.
High quality terracotta jug. Must be treated with care as does all coarse unglazed pottery! It is made from clay, not diamonds! Proper treatment is crucial for getting optimal usage from this pot. Water has been stored in clay vessels of this fashion for 15,000 years prior to the oldest dates set for the writing of the bible, the technology is what it is. Due to the unglazed nature of the clay, water will sweat through and evaporate cooling the jug. This is great as it keeps the water inside cooler than the air. Practically this means your water will always be cooler than the ambient air temperature (unless you have AC then obviously the evaporatove process will be slowed). It is difficult to stop clay tasting like clay. Eventually with much use this jug will season like a cast iron pan and will taste less like earth. Treat it well, use it properly, and just use a non-cooling porcelain pot if you cannot stand the slight flavor of clay in your water.
Thanks for maintaining such a high quality level of your products
I love my water system.
We love our gravity filter. It takes all the chlorine taste out of the water. I’ve been using this system for at least 25 years! Also, thanks for the website update. Super easy to navigate.
Product - After soaking it in the water/apple cider vinegar overnight twice our spring water still tastes great.
Customer Service - Unprofessional.
Buy again - Yes, I purchased multiple ones and would recommend.
It’s a beautiful and solid piece that stays cool to the touch. Looks great in the room. Highly recommend!
Great Product ! Highly Recommended!
I was looking for a small-sized crock for my outdoor office and not only is this the ONLY small-sized crock I could find after lots of online and local searching - it happens to be terra cotta - score! Personally, I love the 'earthy' taste but they say if I want I can soak it to remove that. Highly recommend it. I even have a 2-gallon plastic jug on it no problem :)
We have a 20 year old unit used for the first time in December, 2020. At the git-go we replaced the standard spigot with a stainless steel one. Big difference flow-wise and smooth action. Very pleased.
It's nice to know that customer service is still a priority at Epic. After finding out that I had been sent the wrong filters, I contacted them and they got these beauties out to me pronto. The taste of our water has been greatly improved with these in our La Natural Terracotta Water Filter Cooler Dispenser, so we are very happy. Clean, pure, with a very slightly sweet terracotta flavor. Really enjoying it now. Thank you so much for such great service!
We had a terra cotta water purifier/dispenser that we used daily for more than 10 years and were extremely pleased. After ours developed some small cracks in the top section(ours was a model with terra cotta top and bottom), we knew we had to replace it. I spent a lot of time researching and finally decided on this one. We were excited to get it and followed the instructions and started using in back in the late spring. I noticed a white material would build up on the outside but thought that might be part of the process in the beginning so I wiped it off with a damp paper towel. Every couple weeks, I was having to continue to do that. I also noticed the outside had a bit of a slimy feel which we never had with our other one. I really began to feel concerned and annoyed. We lifted the top one day just to look and saw some small flecks of dark material floating in the bottom tank (treated water). We rinsed it out and started all over. Still having build up on the outside and a damp slimy feeling that build up and there are dark discoloration splotches on the outside. I sent an email to Bill who in the past when I was buying this and another metal unit (for family out of state)and extras (spigot to replace the original cheap one that came with it and we were afraid would quickly break), extra filters, was very quick and helpful to answer. But this time, no response. I think others who are considering spending this amount of money should be aware of the issues. I am not sure why this is happening and since I have got no response, I have no information as to why this is happening but am very disappointed. It's great to have a unit to purify your water so you feel safe with drinking and cooking water for your family. It's not great when you spend a lot and then feel it is unsafe to use.
